Welcome to the Eustis High School band program in Eustis, Florida under the skillful direction of Director Matt Flenner. The Eustis Band Program is nationally-recognized as one of the finest and most comprehensive high school band programs in the nation. Performing ensembles include the Concert Band, Jazz Band I, Jazz Band II, Steel Drum Ensemble, Chorus, Percussion Ensembles, and the Panther Guard. In the fall, all of these groups combine to form the Marching Panther Band.
The band program at Eustis High School provides a comprehensive musical experience for its students with special emphasis placed in the areas of Concert and Solo & Ensemble performance.
Eustis bands consistently earn Superior ratings at the district and state levels.
The Eustis High School Band Program is the second oldest band in the state of Florida. It was originally organized in 1925 under the guidance of Boyd Horner as the Eustis Boys Band and was sponsored by the Eustis Rotary Club. The first band director was Captain J.B. OíNeal (a charter member of the Florida Bandmasters Association).
The band program was re-organized as the Eustis High School Band in 1938 by Harry L. Parker. The first performance of the group was at the George Washington Festival Parade on February 22, 1938.The Eustis High School Band Program has been an integral part of the community since at least 1925. In the early part of the bandís history, one will find many state and national championships and even a performance at the White House in Washington D.C. (1930).
