About the Eustis High School Band
The Eustis High School Band Program provides the students with the highest quality of Music Education available.
At EHS, the band program consists of 3 different performing ensembles in addition to Chorus and Music Appreciation:
The "Panther" Marching Band:
The EHS Marching Panther Band is composed of every student in the band program. This ensemble is offered during the 1st semester of school (August - January). In addition to meeting every morning during 1st period, we hold Tuesday night rehearsals from 6 - 8:30pm, and different sectionals once a week. The students go through a rigorous band camp before the start of school to help prepare them for the season's performances. This ensemble participates in the annual District 19 Florida Bandmaster's Association Music Performance Assessment in November, as well as local parades and other events.
EHS Symphonic Band:
The EHS Symphonic Band is composed of about 90% of the students in the band program. This ensemble is offered during the 2nd semester of school (January - June) and meets during the school day. We also hold some Tuesday night rehearsals from 6 - 8:30pm during the 2nd semester of school. This ensemble participates in the Winter and Spring concerts, Graduation, as well as the annual District 19 Florida Bandmaster's Association Music Performance Assessment in March, and other musical events.
EHS "Panther" Jazz Band:
The Panther Jazz Ensemble is a select group of advanced musicians who love the art of Jazz! This ensemble is offered during the 2nd semester of school (January - June) and meets during the school day. We also hold some after school rehearsals to further our preparation for music festivals. This ensemble performs at the Winter and Spring concerts, as well as the annual District 19 Florida Bandmaster's Association Music Performance Assessment in February. The Panther Jazz Ensemble is also going to be a regular performer at the Lakeside Jazz Festival held in Port Orange, FL.
In addition to these 3 ensembles, students have the opportunity to participate in the District 19 Solo and Ensemble Music Performance Assessment and for positions in County, District, and State Honor Bands.
